Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Chisinau
  • Arrival into Chisinau at your own pace
  • Transfer to your centrally located Soviet era hotel
  • Short afternoon and evening city exploration including:
  • Central boulevard and Soviet architecture
  • Stephen the Great monument and park
  • Presidential Palace exterior
  • War memorial complex
  • Overnight in Chisinau

Day 2 - Drive to Tiraspol
  • Breakfast and hotel check out
  • Drive toward the breakaway region of Transnistria
  • Border formalities and entry into the PMR
  • Arrival in Tiraspol and hotel check in
  • Afternoon walking tour along October 25th Street to see : Government building with Lenin statue - Eternal Flame memorial complex - T 34 tank monument - House of the Soviets - Yuri Gagarin mural
  • Optional visit across the Dniester River to a Soviet style village
  • Overnight in Tiraspol

Day 3 - Victory Day in Tiraspol
  • Early breakfast
  • Attend Victory Day commemorations at the main memorial complex
  • Military parade and veteran ceremonies
  • Visit Bender for Soviet era landmarks including: War damaged government buildings - Lenin statue and Soviet cinema - Renovated train station and WWII locomotive
  • Afternoon visit to historic limestone mines used throughout imperial and Soviet history
  • Picnic by the Dniester River
  • Overnight in Tiraspol

Day 4 - Rural Transnistria and Return to Chisinau
  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Morning exploration of rural Transnistrian towns including: Soviet mosaics and monuments - Small town Lenin statues - Local markets and cultural centers
  • Visit to Dubăsari dam viewpoint
  • Drive back to Chisinau
  • Border crossing into Moldova
  • Arrival in Chisinau city center or transfer directly to the airport
  • Tour concludes
