FAQ's

1. How do I know if a tour is worth booking?

A tour is worth booking if it saves you time, access, or logistics stress compared to doing it yourself.

Use this checklist:

  • Access: Does it take you somewhere hard to reach alone?

  • Time efficiency: Does it combine multiple steps (transport, entry, guide)?

  • Local knowledge: Are you getting insights you wouldn’t get solo?

Avoid booking if:

  • It’s something you can easily replicate with public transport

  • The itinerary is vague or overly generic

  • Reviews mention rushing or overcrowding

2. Are guided tours better than doing it yourself?

It depends on the activity.

Guided tours are better when:

  • The location is remote or restricted

  • Wildlife or timing matters (e.g. seasonal experiences)

  • There are safety considerations

Doing it yourself is better when:

  • The destination is easy to navigate

  • You want flexibility and no fixed schedule

  • The experience is location-based (e.g. beaches, viewpoints)

3. What’s the best time of year to book tours?

It depends on three factors, not just weather:

  • Seasonality (wildlife, events, natural conditions)

  • Crowds (peak vs shoulder season)

  • Weather stability

General rule:

  • Peak season = best conditions, most crowded

  • Shoulder season = best balance

  • Low season = cheapest, but higher risk of cancellations

Always check month-specific conditions, not just “summer vs winter.”

4. How far in advance should I book?

  • High-demand tours: At least 60 days in advance

  • Unique or limited-capacity tours: As early as possible

Last-minute bookings can work, but:

  • Prices may increase

  • Availability drops

  • Best time slots are often gone

5. Are cheaper tours worse?

Not always but there’s usually a trade-off.

Lower-priced tours often mean:

  • Larger group sizes

  • Less experienced guides

  • Shorter durations

  • Fewer inclusions

Higher-priced tours typically offer:

  • Smaller groups

  • Better logistics

  • More flexibility

The key is not price it’s value per hour and experience quality.

6. How do I avoid overcrowded tours?

Look for:

  • Early morning or late afternoon departures

  • Smaller group size limits (under 10–12 people)

  • Off-season availability

Avoid:

  • Midday start times

  • “Top-rated” mass-market tours with hundreds of reviews

  • Tours that visit multiple major attractions in a short time

7. Are tours suitable for beginners?

Many tours are beginner-friendly, but you need to read the tour description itself.

We offer a range of different tours, from shark snorkeling to deep desert hikes. You have to know your own level of fitness for these and understand that in some countries there will be a huge culture shock.

8. What happens if the weather is bad?

This depends on the activity:

  • Outdoor tours may be:

    • Cancelled

    • Rescheduled

    • Adjusted

Always check:

  • Cancellation policy

  • Refund eligibility

  • Minimum conditions required for the tour to operate

9. Are tours refundable if I cancel?

Please check our refund policy

10. How physically demanding are most tours?

Each tour varies depending on the trip itself. A safari will be less demaning than a shark snorkel for example. Combining these in one tour and you can have 3 days at sea and 3 days in a car. Read the description carefully.

11. Is it safe to book tours online?

Yes if you check:

  • Verified reviews (not just ratings)

  • Clear cancellation policies

  • Detailed descriptions (not vague summaries)

Avoid booking if:

  • The itinerary is unclear

  • There’s no mention of group size or duration

  • The provider lacks transparency

12. Do I need travel insurance for tours?

Insurance is mandatory for all tours as we operate in many different areas.

13. What should I bring on a tour?

This depends on the activity, but generally:

  • Water

  • Sunscreen

  • Comfortable clothing

  • ID or booking confirmation

For active tours:

  • Proper footwear

  • Extra layers

  • Snacks

Always follow the provider’s specific recommendations.

14. Can I book tours last minute?

Yes but expect:

  • Limited availability

  • Fewer time slots

  • Higher prices in peak season

Last-minute works best in:

  • Large cities

  • Low season

  • High-frequency tours

15. How do I choose between similar tours?

Compare these 5 things:

  1. Group size

  2. Duration

  3. What’s included

  4. Timing (start/end)

  5. Reviews mentioning specific experiences
