Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in La Paz

Arrive in La Paz where you'll meet your expedition leader before transferring to the coastal town of La Ventana. Following an expedition briefing, prepare for an unforgettable week exploring one of the world's richest marine ecosystems.

Day 2 – Orcas & Mobula Rays

Your first day on the Sea of Cortez begins aboard your private wildlife boat exploring the waters surrounding Cerralvo Island and La Ventana. Search for enormous schools of mobula rays while keeping watch for dolphins, whales and the expedition's ultimate goal, wild orcas.

Day 3 – Sea of Cortez Wildlife Safari

Return to the Sea of Cortez for another full day following wildlife activity reported by experienced local captains. Every day is different, allowing complete flexibility to maximise the best wildlife opportunities available.

Day 4 – Final Orca Search

Enjoy one final day exploring the waters around La Ventana. Depending on recent wildlife activity, the day may focus on orcas, mobula rays, dolphins, sea lions or whales, ensuring every opportunity is taken to experience Baja's incredible marine biodiversity.

Day 5 – Cabo San Lucas & Blue Sharks

Travel south to Cabo San Lucas before heading offshore into the Pacific Ocean. The deep blue waters beyond the peninsula provide ideal habitat for pelagic sharks and other oceanic wildlife.

  • Snorkel with blue sharks when conditions allow

Overnight: Cabo San Lucas

Day 6 – Sharks of the Pacific

Return offshore for your second shark expedition. Depending on ocean conditions and seasonal wildlife movements, encounters may include blue sharks, shortfin mako sharks, sea turtles, dolphins and other remarkable pelagic species.

Day 7 – Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Los Cabos International Airport for your onward journey.

Blue Sharks & Shortfin Makos

Head offshore from Cabo San Lucas to snorkel with pelagic sharks in the deep Pacific Ocean. Depending on conditions, encounters may include blue sharks, shortfin mako sharks, sea turtles, dolphins and other open ocean wildlife.

The World's Aquarium

Discover why Jacques Cousteau described the Sea of Cortez as "the world's aquarium." Throughout the expedition you may also encounter humpback whales, Bryde's whales, fin whales, sperm whales, bottlenose dolphins, common dolphins, sea lions, mobula rays and countless seabirds.
